Philosophy
The photographer's arts must be many and diverse; however, the art of seeing is the principle service that I bring to the bride and groom. I offer my art of seeing to you in my eye for framing the composites which reflect the personal nature of your day, and in my eye for capturing the fleeting moments that are significant to you, and to your family and loved ones.
Using Hasselblad and Canon technology, I draw light and color and feelings and movement into my lens, arranging them through my imagination and sensitivity into a reflection of the personal magic that is at work in your lives on this, your day of days. On a given wedding day, the breeze will lift a bride's veil into a halo of light, a child will be overcome by a yawn, rose petals will float before the bride and groom. . .my art of seeing draws such images into the lens, and, ultimately, to your Wedding Album, to be permanently held for your memory treasures.
I record your wedding in a photojournalistic, unobtrusive style. I am everywhere, but nowhere. The spontaneity, the personal sweetness, the liveliness of your celebration is what I pursue. To do so, I must, in effect, disappear. The only time you'll find a need to focus on me is during the time required for the formal, posed photographs of you with your wedding party and close family members. These photographs are generally taken immediately after the ceremony.
I commit to one wedding per day, sometimes just one per weekend as a bride and groom will often ask me to photograph their rehearsal dinner. You may find that you need me for a longer period of time than you had originally planned. Because I am at your disposal and have no need to rush off to another event, I can extend the time of service to you on the spot. My commitment for your Wedding Day is to you, your moments, your celebration, the promise of your lives, and your life together.
